Order picking and loading-dock arrival punctuality performance indicators for supply chain management: A case study

Abstract Supply chain activity control is an essential part of Chain Management (SCM), ensuring compliance with customer requirements. This paper presents a case study into the SCM activities. The analysed two areas involving different SC links associated order picking, and outsourced truck freights, respectively. studied company had problems these links. An approach based on developing KPI (Key Performance Indicator) was proposed to address issues. Consequently, affected processes were characterised, considering relevant data for defining KPI. Then, strategies methods devised collection processing regarding system’s current state. Finally, tools designed facilitate interpretation state thus, pave way decision-making process corrective measures.
